Simplified Power Supply Solution for Vehicle Tracking Systems

Macnica Cytech

Webinar Introduction

A Vehicle Tracking System (VTS) is typically installed on cars and trucks to provide real-time information about the vehicles speed, location, and direction using GPS. To work reliably, VTS needs to have a robust power supply that is designed to protect the system from common fault conditions like load dump, cold crank, overcurrent, and reverse voltage and also comply to the automotive electronics standards, particularly CISPR 25, ISO 7637-2 and ISO-16750-2.

This webinar presents ADI’s all-in-one ADVTS-4152 Combo Power Supply. It comprises of the LT4356-1 surge stopper to protect electronic system from high voltage transients, the LT8609A high efficiency step-down regulator, and the LTC4040 battery backup power manager with high-current step-up DC-to-DC regulator to back-up the supply from a single Lithium Ion or Lithium-Iron-Phosphate battery. This high performance solution addresses the design challenges of VTS automotive power supply.
