NXP Bags Six Honors at EE Awards Asia

Article By : Stephen Las Marias

NXP Semiconductors has received six awards for its MCU, IoT cybersecurity IC, power semiconductor, and RF/wireless IC at the inaugural EE Awards Asia.

NXP Semiconductors, one of the leading semiconductor companies worldwide, has received six awards at the inaugural EE Awards Asia. The company won in the Featured Industry 4.0 MPU/MCU Supplier and Best MCU of the Year categories for the Taiwan division, while being recognized in the Featured IoT Cybersecurity Chip Supplier, Featured Industry 4.0 MPU/MCU Supplier, Featured Energy-Saving Power Semiconductor Provider, and RF & Wireless IC categories in the Asia division.

For over 60 years, NXP has been creating solutions that enable secure connections and infrastructure for a smarter world, and empower the devices with the ability to sense, think, connect, and act in applications such as edge computing, AIoT, safety, and security across the automotive, industrial, mobile, and infrastructure areas.

Explosion of Demand

The growth of semiconductors in multiple areas is expanding rapidly. For example, in the vehicle or autonomous vehicle sector, there is a 30-40% increase in the number of chips in each vehicle.

This explosion of demand for chips poses challenges to the semiconductors supply chain, which emphasizes the importance of innovations that NXP is driving. The company has comprehensive and integrated solutions across edge processing, AI/ML, and connectivity in diversified markets, such as smart home, smart city, mobile, industrial and communication infrastructure, and has close partnerships with many global leading companies in the industry ecosystem, which help engineers create product designs with higher performance, lower power consumption and reasonable cost.

As for the ethical issues in AI—which is a growing concern among the public—NXP is working in close collaboration with leading academic institutions, research organizations, and pioneering technology firms, focusing on the design, development, and deployment of AI systems that learn from and collaborate with humans in a deep, meaningful way to drive the transformation with secure, connected processing solutions, and to further help enable a boundless multitude of future applications.

Industry Leadership

Winning an award at this year’s inaugural EE Awards Asia is already a great honor for a company and its product, given the fact that winners are chosen by the engineers around Asia. But landing six awards is a feat—a validation of leadership in the industry, as confirmed by the industry.

And NXP making that achievement is a great honor and recognition, according to the company, which has always been committed to driving the technology innovations to enable a smarter and safer world through creating “secure connections.”

Moving forward, NXP will continue to accelerate technology breakthroughs and collaborate with its partners around the world to make the world aware, connected, efficient, and smart.
