MCUs feature core independent peripherals for CPU offloading

The PIC32MM devices include core independent peripherals such as CLC and MCCPs which help enable sensorless BLDC motor control applications.

Microchip Technology has rolled out the company's lowest power and most cost-effective family of 32-bit PIC32 microcontrollers (MCUs). The Microchip PIC32MM family bridges the gap between the company's popular PIC24F XLP and PIC32MX families. The new family is the first PIC32 to feature core independent peripherals, designed to offload the CPU for lower power and lower system design. The PIC32MM devices are supported by the Microchip MPLAB Code Configurator (MCC) to help simplify and accelerate designs.

Development Support

To help accelerate evaluation and development, a new PIC32MM processor plug-in module is available (MA320020, $25), which plugs into the Explorer 16 Development Board (DM240001, $129.99).

The entire family of PIC32MM devices is supported by the Microchip professional tool ecosystem that includes MPLAB X IDE and XC32 compiler. The MPLAB Code Configurator, a plug-in to MPLAB X IDE, helps with easy peripheral setup, device configuration and pin mapping.
