LED light engine pumps 100 lumens per watt
The light engine integrates an LED module with Acrich MJT 5050 series LED, and an innovative heat sink and secondary optics. The Acrich light engine does not require a complex AC/DC converter and can be operated directly from the AC mains. This simplifies designs, reduces component count and improves on the reliability of the luminaire.
"The payback period for streetlights can be significantly reduced with this new Acrich light engine," according to Jay Kim, EVP of Lighting Sales Division at Seoul Semiconductor. "By eliminating AC/DC converters in streetlights, maintenance costs can be lowered and reliability can be improved without compromising on price, quality and energy savings."
The device features Acrich3 IC technology that, when operated in power compensation mode, can adapt to variations in the line-voltage as great as 20 per cent and still deliver power-level regulation within 5 per cent, ensuring uniformity of the light output.

The Acrich3 solution is coupled with smart lighting control technologies, and is designed to work with most existing TRIAC dimmers without sacrificing on power quality or efficiency ensuring consumers can take advantage of both energy savings and ambiance lighting controls. This enables users to make the transition from wall-dimmer-controlled LED lights to smart lighting control systems.
The Acrich3 technology can interface through a range of wireless networks such as IEEE 802.15.4, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth to control dimming, CCT, zoning and scheduling—all from the convenience of a tablet or a smartphone to optimise both energy savings and the aesthetic benefits of LED lighting.
