EnVerv rolls combined dual-modem PLC, RF SoC
EnVerv has pushed out the door its EV8600 dual-modem PLC+RF SoC geared for various Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI), industrial automation and home automation applications. The EV8600 combines the company's power line communications (PLC) technology operating at 10-500KHz and an RF modem operating in the range of 142-1050MHz.
The EV8600 also includes a powerful applications processor, on which bridging/routing algorithms between the two modems are implemented, and internal flash memory, added EnVerv.
The EV8600's PLC modem is an end-to-end solution composed of a line driver, AFE, PHY, MAC and network layer. It is multi-standard that supports G3-PLC, PRIME, P1901.2 and S-FSK; and multi-band that supports CENELEC, FCC and ARIB.
The device also has an RF modem that supports 802.15.4g (WiSUN) and Wireless M-Bus. According to the company, it is a complete RF modem comprising RF transceiver, PHY, MAC and network layer. It has a receive sensitivity of -126dBm and maximum output power of 13dBm with external PA support up to 30dBm. In addition, it delivers data rates from 100b/s to 1Mb/s.
The EV8600 will sample to partners in 4Q14.
