10Gbit TCP, UDP accelerators run up to 16,000 connections

Intilop, Inc. has launched the sixth generation of its 10G TCP & UDP full offload engines, which provide 16,000 simultaneous TCP and UDP connections and over 1.1GB/s per port regardless of the number of simultaneous or active TCP/UDP sessions—promising to deliver this performance with ultra-low latency and zero jitter.

The devices feature a vast difference compared with other leading TCP accelerators that implement partial TCP offloads and suffer major performance degradation when handling just 10 to 20 simultaneous TCP sessions, according to the company. The unprecedented TCP throughput of more than 95 per cent for large and small size payload data transfers on a 10G network is 8 to 20 times higher compared to the TCP/IP software running network traffic, the de-facto standard.

To realise the maximum throughput possible, which is greater than 95 per cent or at theoretic bandwidth limit, hyper performance servers can use Intilop's TCP technology and NIC solutions. The company claims to have set the latency barrier of sub 100ns and throughput of more than 1GB/s per port since its first 10G series of TCP engines in 2011.

The offload engine's patent pending architecture promises scalability, without compromising the low latency and performance. Intilop's product-line solutions are available in flexible FPGA/ASIC/SoC technologies, which can accommodate diverse set of appliance maker's technical design specifications.
