Econais integrates Wi-Fi into a compact form factor
Econais Inc. has unveiled an 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi system in package (SiP) module that is billed as the smallest and smartest, with a size that measures 14x16x2.8mm for integrating Wi-Fi while minimising impact on budget, space, and power.
The EC19W01 is based on an ultra-low power, Wi-Fi chip with support for Wi-Fi Direct, WPS, legacy Wi-Fi Client and SoftAP modes, full TCP/IP stack, HTTPS/SSL, and cloud services integration among others. It includes flash memory, an antenna and wireless certifications to give designers a full array of options for embedding the module in their designs to get their devices on the Internet and the cloud.
The combination of a 32bit processor and the company's proprietary ProbMe configuration method enables the configuration of the module without the need of any application. The device consumes 10µA on standby and 1.16mA when performing Wi-Fi associated functions.
Engineering samples and production quantities of the EC19W01, along with a development kit, are available.
