Gpixel endows CMOS image sensor with 150Mpx res
The GMAX3005 features a ginormous 30,000px by 5,000px resolution for medical, industrial and scientific imaging applications. It can run at 10fps, achieving even higher frame rates in row-winding mode.
The sensor is equipped with an electronic rolling shutter. It measures 167.6mmx30.1mm and includes a 165mmx27.5mm photon-sensitive area. It has a 16bit on-chip ADC with 12bit effective number of bits, and 120LVDS output pairs running at 200Mbit/s.
The sensor has a dynamic range of 75.4dB, and over 70 per cent quantum efficiency at 550nm wavelength. It consumes less than 2.5W at full frame rate in full resolution.
"We chose TowerJazz's CMOS image sensor manufacturing process due to its excellent pixel performance, stitching technology for wafer-scale die size, and its outstanding pixel and process customisation capabilities," said Xinyang Wang, founder and CEO of Gpixel, in a statement.
The sensor is expected to be released this year, targeting the growing demand in China for high end image sensors.
