Gen II transmitter provides dual 1310nm deployment option
The 2804 CATV transmitter is part of the company's system for transporting up to 110 Channels of VSB/AM modulated signals over a single mode optical fibre. The Generation II, meanwhile, features a dual transmitter option that facilitates deployment of two 1310nm transmitters in the same space traditionally used for just one. In addition, several configurations can be requested including single or dual power supplies.
The transmitter has an output power up to 15dBm. It incorporates the company's linear analogue DFB laser, which allows for economical form factor—a 19in, RU rack-mount, fully-contained enclosure.
The company expects to begin shipping the 2804 Generation II transmitter in the second quarter of 2014.
The 2804 may be used with the 2807 mini-node receiver for use in return path and multiple splitter applications or with the 2808 receiver for basic 110 channel CATV transmission. SOURCE: EMCORE
