Module boosts SPI for real-time Ethernet slave connectivity

Hilscher has designed a communication module that features a fast SPI connection to the host processor via its netX51 hardware geared for the high performance profile PROFINET V2.3 for devices requiring real-time Ethernet slave connectivity.

The comX 51CA-RE reduces the integration effort as well as the part cost of the device manufacturer, since only a simple serial connection to the host needs to be realised.

I/O data can alternately be transferred via a 50MHz SPI interface or an 8bit-16bit parallel bus to the host processor.

Due to compatible mechanics, consistent interfaces and same FDT/DTM configuration-tool the whole variety of network systems and communication modules can be used.
