A4WP joins forces with Asian standards dev't organisations
The Alliance for Wireless Power has made a landmark agreement with top standards development organisations (SDO) to promote the adoption of the Rezence magnetic resonance-based wireless power transfer for consumer applications. Separate memoranda of understanding were signed by the China Communications Standards Association (CCSA), Japan's Yokosuka Research Park Broadband Wireless Forum (YRP-BWF) and Korea's Telecommunications Technology Association (TTA).
A core element of the A4WP mission is a commitment to working collaboratively with SDOs on a national, regional and international basis. Each SDO operates according to its own schedule in response to unique national regulatory, and local and global market conditions. The Asia SDO collaborations thus hold weight since more than half of the A4WP membership is from Greater China, Japan or Korea.
Representatives from the mentioned SDOs all expressed their enthusiasm in their organisations cooperation with A4WP, saying that this will foster the Chinese market as well as promote the Chinese industry's global standardisation activities on wireless power transfer contribution; facilitate the adoption of the technology as a Japan national technical standard; and contribute to the expansion of global Rezence wireless power transmission product market in Korea.
