Goniometer system simulates light distribution
Radiant Zemax will bring its portfolio of testing solutions for intensity, illuminance, luminance and chromaticity of various lighting sources at the Light + Building trade fair in Germany that will begin on March 30.
The near-field measurement system, PM-NFMS, is one of the products that the company will present. It is a two-axis goniometer, providing near-field luminance distribution data, and more compact than traditional testing methods. Designed for developers of large light sources in automotive, transportation, and architectural applications, the system allows engineers to see how the luminaire would appear from different angles, allowing accurate simulations of light distribution.
Other products included in the line-up are: the PM-10 Photometer and ProMetric I2 Imaging Colorimeter, for high speed production applications; the IS-LI-TE Imaging Sphere for measurement of illumination patterns; and the latest release of the Zemax optical design software, OpticStudio14.
In R&D environments, compact goniometer systems combine imaging technology and software to deliver comprehensive data, enabling lighting engineers to optimise their product designs and generate standard output files, including IES, Eulumdat, or Radiant Source Model formats. On the production line, high-speed Radiant Zemax test systems helps engineers to ensure product quality and consistency, with configurable solutions built for high volume throughput.
