Trident buys private Chinese software firm

In an effort to boost its software and connected TV strategies, Trident Microsystems Inc. has acquired Beijing Tiside Electronics Design Co Ltd, which provides cross-platform software that allows multimedia applications to run on devices in the digital living room such as STB or digital TV sets.
