Transceiver claims 100Mbit/s data rate, robust ESD protection

Intersil has introduced the ISL3259E RS-485/RS-422 transceiver, a next-generation interface IC that combines what is said to be the industry's fastest data transmission rate (100Mbit/s) with a low 2.6mA supply current and rugged 15kV IEC61000-4-2 ESD protection.
