UDC, LG.Philips hammer PHOLED tech share deal
Universal Display Corp. said it has agreed to supply LG.Philips LCD with phosphorescent OLED (PHOLED) technology for one year. The pact includes the provision of materials for use in the manufacture of the Korean-Dutch joint venture firm's commercial active-matrix OLED (AMOLED) display products.
UDC cut short of revealing the financial details of the collaboration but did disclose that it will recognize commercial chemical sales and license fee revenues from the materials supply.
LG.Philips LCD recently announced the development of the world's first high-resolution AMOLED display built on flexible metal foil utilizing UDC's proprietary PHOLED and FOLED flexible technologies.
