Broadcom wireless processor produces smaller gateways

Broadcom Corp. has released the AirForce BCM4712 system-on-a-chip that includes a 54g MAC/baseband and integrated 10/100 Ethernet and USB interfaces. Combined with the BCM2050 2.4GHz radio, the product enables secure 802.11g wireless LAN access points, routers and gateways to be produced in smaller form factors.
