Worldwide chip industry records growth in 2001

Global semiconductor sales climbed to $36.9 billion in Q3 of 2002, an 8.2 percent sequential increase from the $34.1 billion revenue reached over last year's Q2, and a 21 percent increase from the corresponding period of 2001.
